DNA Sexing
Do you know what sex your birdie is? Are you frustrated because
your bonded pair lays "infertile" eggs all the time? Try
DNA. Your bonded pair might be 2 females!
DNA sexing is available at The Aviary for a fee of $35.00.
DNA sexing is safe and not injurious in any way to your bird your
results are back in 7-10 business days and includes a certificate
of gender.
Why DNA?
Some birds like Lovebirds, Quakers, African Greys, Macaws and even
Cockatiels are sometimes hard to tell what sex they are, even by
the experienced eye. That is why DNA is a very valuable test to find
out what sex your feathered companion is.
How is DNA done? Its done by drawing the tiniest amount of blood
from your birds from the tip of a nail. This can be done during a
nail trim and your birdie will never know it!
